Peter Kemp Story Telling Photography & Ladydiabolika | Workshop in Bergen – Norway

Conoscere Peter Kemp e collaborare con lui è stata decisamente una delle più belle esperienze di quest’anno. Ho ammirato per anni il suo lavoro così,  quando mi ha chiesto di posare per il suo Workshop in Norvegia di Story Telling ( scatti in cui si racconta una storia ), non ho avuto alcun dubbio e la mia risposta è stata : “quando !”

Questo è quello che amo di più della fotografia,  è una grande opportunità per conoscere persone accomunate dagli stessi interessi artistici e se sei fortunato, può capitare l’occasione di creare qualcosa di bello insieme.

Quando Peter mi ha contattata abbiamo passato giorni a parlare di idee e outfits per creare le storie per la nostra missione norvegese. Peter ama creare idee partendo da un disegno semplice,  così ha inizio il processo creativo,  successivamente sono stata libera di contribuire con le mie idee di styling ed è così che abbiamo pianificato il nostro lavoro.

Peter aveva questa folle idea di raccontare la storia di una sala d’attesa piuttosto surreale dove avrei dovuto posare al fianco di uno scheletro e di un “uomo-lampada” e per crearla abbiamo dovuto chiedere la collaborazione di tutti i partecipanti al workshop. Peter crede nel teamwork in quanto è la parte fondamentale del suo lavoro,  così abbiamo chiesto all’oganizzazione di trovare uno scheletro sul posto, un paralume vintage e abbiamo coinvolto uno dei fotografi partecipanti al workshop chiedendogli di posare come “uomo-lampada”.

Questo è stato il risultato che abbiamo ottenuto dal nostro Story Telling set.

Questo è più o meno come ha inizio il processo creativo, parte tutto da un’idea e dal team per realizzarla.

Insieme a Peter abbiamo lavorato per due giorni all’interno dell’Archivio di Stato di Bergen e abbiamo aiutato tutti i partecipanti a creare la loro storia in uno scatto. E’ stata una grandissima opportunità per conoscere e interagire con appassionati di fotografia di un altro Paese e per collaborare con un grande Uomo e Artista come Peter Kemp.

Meeting Peter Kemp and collaborating with him was definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had this year .  I’ve been admiring his work since years so when he asked me to model for his Story Telling Workshop in Norway I had no doubts at all and the answer was : “when !”

This is what I love most of all in photography, it’s a great chance to meet cool people with common artistic interests and if you’re lucky you can create something special together.

When Peter contacted me we spent several days talking about ideas and outfits to create stories for our norvegian mission . Peter loves discussing ideas on sketches and this is how the creative process beginns, then I was free to contribute with my styling ideas and that’s how we planned our work.

Peter had this crazy idea to tell the story of a surreal waiting room  were i was supposed to model next to a skeleton and a “lampman” so we had to ask cooperation from the whole team taking part to the workshop. Peter believes in teamwork which is the key of his work , so we asked to the organization to find a skeleton on place ,  a vintage lamp top and we asked one of the photographers taking part to the workshop to co-model as the “lamp-man”.

This is more or less how the process begins, it’s all about an idea and the team to get to it.

Peter and I worked for two days inside the Bergen State Archive and we helped everybody involved in the workshop to create his own story in a shoot.  It was a great opportunity to meet and interact with cool photography lovers  from another Country and to collaborate with a great Man and Artist such as Peter Kemp.

Thanks to the whole Bergen crew and the great hospitality in this amazing City.
