Qualche anno fa, durante EICMA (fiera di motori di Milano), sono rimasta colpita da un brand di abbigliamento street race wear che unisce vintage style e influenze rock in un modo assolutamente attuale. Questo brand era RUSTY PISTONS!
Lavorando nella produzione di capi su misura, faccio particolarmente attenzione ai dettagli e devo dire che questo prodotto è rifinito con grade cura, veste perfettamente e la qualità dei materiali utilizzati è ottima.
Essendo poi un’appassionata di vintage e pin-up style è stato amore a prima vista e l’idea di contestualizzare il tutto in uno shooting in questa dimensione, tra gli anni ’50 e le gare di motori clandestine, è nata praticamente da sola.
L’anno scorso ho inoltre conosciuto il titolare di California Racer Garage, un appassionato di vintage e motori e data la natura senza tempo di questo garage si è rivelato lo scenario perfetto per realizzare il nostro shooting.
Dato che in questo blog vorrei dar spazio anche delle persone fantastiche che lavorano dietro le loro attività, mi sono presa un attimo per fare qualche domanda sia a Leonardo Ceccanti, importatore italiano di Rusty Pistons, che a Gianluca De Falco, titolare di California Racer Garage.

Ciao Leonardo! ci racconti qual è la tua filosofia di vita e in che modo l’ha influenzata ?
– La mia filosofia di vita è mettere estro e creatività in qualsiasi cosa, questo praticamente da quando sono nato.
Perchè hai deciso di importare Rusty Pistons in Italia e cosa ami di più di questo brand ?
– Mi sono innamorato di questo prodotto praticamente dalla prima volta che l’ho visto! Ho comprato la mia prima felpa e maglietta ed ho constatato subito la qualità del prodotto e l’eccellente rapporto con il prezzo. Da li ho contattato direttamente l’azienda fissando un appuntamento per definire gli accordi per diventare distributore per l’Italia (questo succedeva nell’estate del 2013). Da li è partita la mia collaborazione con Rusty Pistons. Ad oggi siamo ancora in evoluzione e con la nuova “Crew” stiamo ampliando e perfezionando il magazzino e la distribuzione e continuiamo a cercare collaboratori/rappresentanti per coprire sempre di più il territorio Italiano. Hai progetti futuri che ti piacerebbe condividere ?
Di progetti futuri ne ho molti e tanti me ne verranno in mente. Sono un creativo e di idee nuove me ne vengono tutti i giorni.
In questo momento sto lavorando su un progetto “Hipster” e tutto il mondo che lo circonda.
Ciao Gianluca! ci racconti qual è la tua filosofia di vita e in che modo l’ha influenzata ?
– Il mondo è la mia casa…la strada la mia libertà…la moto la mia passione, ed è stata influenzata dall’essere un po’ rocker un vero e proprio stile di vita.
Dal primo momento in cui ho visto il tuo garage non ho potuto fare a meno di chiedermi, quando hai iniziato a collezionare tutte queste cose vintage e hanno influenzato il tuo modo di vedere e lavorare con i motori ?
– Ho iniziato questo percorso di customizer circa 3 anni fa collezionando degli oggetti vintage, poi solo dopo ho creato una sorta di club House per un gruppo chiamato Milano cafè racer
Come crei la moto perfetta per i tuoi clienti?
– Creo la moto perfetta per i miei clienti solo dopo aver fatto conoscenza di persona, con un paio di birre e un po’ di estro vengono fuori delle piccole opere d’arte
Hai sempre lavorato nel circuito dei motori?
– si…diciamo di si…inizialmente ho lavorato come meccanico di auto, poi con la passione delle due ruote tutto è cambiato.
La mia filosofia di vita è sintetizzabile nella parola Glamourosophy che dà il titolo anche al mio blog. A me piace mettere un pizzico di Glamour in tutte le cose che faccio ed è quello che ho fatto anche nell’interpretare il mondo Rusty Pistons.

Few years ago, during EICMA (Motorcycles expo in Milan), my attention was captured by a custom style street race wear which combines vintage style with rock influences in a totally actual way. That brand was RUSTY PISTONS !
As a made to measure creator I really pay attentions for any production’ s detail and I have to say that this product is very weell refined, fits amazingly plus the materials quality is so good.
Being a vintage and pin-up style lover it was just love at first sight for this dimension between the 50’s and illegal motors races and the idea to shoot all of this in that dimension crossed our minds by itself.
Last year then i met California Racer Garage owner, a vintage style and motors lover and since the timeless nature of this garage it revealed to be the perfect scenario to give life to our shooting.
I took some time to ask few questions to Leonardo Ceccanti, the italian Rusty Pistons importer and to Gianluca De falco , California Racer Garage owner, since in my blog I’d love to tell you also the stories of cool people working behind their business.

Hi Leonardo! tell us what’s your philosophy of life and in which way it has influenced it ?
– Creativity in everything I do, that’s my philosophy of life eversince I’m born.
Why did you decide to import Rusty Pistons in Italy and what do you like the most about this brand ?
– I basicly felt in love with this product since the first time I’ve found it out ! I bought my first sweatshirt and t-shirt and I immediately considered the product quality and the fair price for it. After that I contacted their Company directly to schedule a business meeting to become the italian distributor (this happened in summer 2013). From there on started my collaboration with Rusty Pistons. Nowadays we’re still evolving and we’re empowering our warehouse and distribution system with our new “Crew” and we still keep on searching coworkers/sales representatives to cover all italian areas.

Do you have any future plans that you would like to share with us ?
– I have many future plans and many that I still don’t know yet. I’m a very creative person and new ideas come to my mind every day. At the moment I’m working on a “Hipster” project and the whole world around it.
Hi Gianluca! tell us what’s your philosophy of life and in which way it has influenced it ?
– The world is my home…road is my freedom…motorcycle is my passion and it was influenced by my rocker attitude which is a complete lifestyle.
From the first time I saw your garage I couldn’t help but wonder, when did you start collection all these vintage objects and how did they influenced your way to work with motors and to see them ?
– I’ve started this customizer path about 3 years ago collecting vintage objects, only after that I’ ve created a sort of Club House for Milano Cafè Racer team.
How do you create the perfect motorcycle for your clients?
– I create the perfect motocycle only after meeting personally the client, after a few beers and a some inspiration little pieces of art come to life.
Did you always work with motors?
– Yes…let’s say yess…I started as a car mechanic, then with my passion for motorcycles everything changed.
Glamourosophy is the perfect word to define my philosophy of life and it’s also my blog’s title. I love to put a hint of Glamour in everything I do and this is what I’ve done even for Rusty Pistons world.
